    The West Wing #3.18:

Outraged? I'm barely surprised. This is a country where women aren't allowed to drive a car. They're not allowed to be in the company of any man other than a close relative, they're required to adhere to a dress code that would make the Mary Knoll Nun look like Malibu Barbie. They beheaded a hundred twenty-one people last year for robbery, rape, and drug trafficking. They've no free press. No elected government. No political parties. And the royal family allows the religious police to travel in groups of six; carrying nightsticks and they freely and publicly beat women. But, "Brutus is an honorable man." Seventeen schoolgirls were forced to burn alive because they weren't wearing the proper clothing. Am I outraged? No, Steve. No, Chris. No, Mark. That is Saudi Arabia, our partners in peace. Bonnie, then Scott.

Live from Tokyo

Posted by jetblack on September 10th, 2003

This morning I got a surprise treat; my friend Karen from Tokyo IM’ed me while I was doing some more badge work for JTAF. I have not corresponded with her in quite some time, so it was a real nice surprise to have her little box show up on my desktop with a little greeting. She’s learning the language at an amazing rate over the past nine months, and looks like I lose the pool :P We had a Karen pool running way back in the day… of when she would lose interest and come back home. This is technically the ninth month, and she did say she was getting sick of living in Japan :P Hey, I think the pool is up to $750. :)
Anyway, packing up everything and getting ready to head up to the city right now, and hope to be there before 3pm.
