Started coding on Where No One Has Gone Before II, and it’s not quite like riding a bicycle, but I’m managing. I’m working on three different systems right now, and I’m hoping that I can get it fully integrated by the time May rolls around. It’s been such al ong time since I’ve had to think in code that I’m afraid I might not fully remember everything, but it’s coming back to me little by little. I actually forgot how to send a mail using the subroutine, which is something that used to be second nature… bleh.

So far I’ve managed to just not post on Thursday pretty consistantly. The addition of the posting calendar on S2 sure does show exactly how much you post and when. Anyway, I have nothing against Thursdays… I guess I just don’t have much to say then.

Since Monday night, I’ve been doing battle with the forces of evil (spyware and viruses) on my laptop, but now I’m more pissed about the damned power connector on the back dying. I had initially wanted to replace this laptop with another one since I found out that I had a bonus coming, but my bonus was not quite as big as I thought or hoped, so I’m stuck with this piece of shit until I can come up with the money, or maybe I could sell , instead. I would love to get one of those awesome 17 inch TruBright laptops with the gaming package built in. Toshiba makes one for around $1800, which is reasonable for what I need a laptop to do… I just wish they would make a laptop that could stand up to my brutality.

I will be recording another Unwound show at SFSU tonight at around 7pm in the Science building during the AnimeFX meeting, if anyone wishes to drop by and participate in the audience. We will be recording every Friday night at AnimeFX, so feel free to come on down and poke your head in.
Oh, and Vader is one of the gargoyles at the National Cathedral. Creepy, and yet it’s kind of cool.

That’s what my Norton scan told me last night after I ran it for THREE HOURS. So, I was sitting there, inputting the new titles of the aiko cd I picked up at Japan Center on Monday, and all of a sudden, a whole stampede of browser windows began popping up without warning or my asking. I ran whole shitloads of scans from Ad Aware and Spyware Doctor, but they couldn’t help me. So I brought out the big gun: Norton Anti-Virus (now with extra ad/spyware ass-stomping).

I stayed off Trillian, email, and the web (at some points disconnecting my laptop from the net entirely) to prevent any browsers from popping up during the scan. I just did a quick check to make sure I had all the proper definitions. I got paranoid and also started running scans on all my machines, and found viruses on my game box and the file server. So then it was a quick jump to sound the alarm and everyone else (thankfully) had no viruses. Yay! When I got done with the scan, I had to sit through another 2 hour session of deletes and quarantines. I’ve never seen that many run rampant on a system before, so now I guess that first time is over and done with.
Anyway, all is well, now, and I’m sorry I haven’t been online to chat with you all. I’m back online, now.
