Unwound Live!

http://outpostnine.com/editorials/teacher.html

Holy crap, this is a funny site. It’s a running editorial of an American teacher in Japan, and as the friend of a former JET participant, I don’t think it ever got quite this bad for her as it did for this guy. Fucking hilarious, though.

Tonight’s show was AWESOME. None of you listened, of course. It’ll be replayed on Wednesday and Saturday at 4pm. Jimbo, you’re still not paid in full, pal. πŸ˜›

I’m gonna send this to a friend of mine who is a JET now, if you don’t mind.

It’s public consumption, it looks like, so go right ahead. πŸ™‚

    Sweet, thank you!

I didn’t listen because I was eating well-done fries at In N Out. They’re so much better than the regular ones.

    • jetblack on July 17, 2005 at 22:08

What? Bring me some! What kind of fiancee are you? πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I’m waiting for the Hammer of Doom, now. πŸ™‚

    Get your own. :p

    • jetblack on July 17, 2005 at 22:11

    Ouch.

    • sleepysluggo on July 17, 2005 at 22:14

I’ll get you some next time we go.

    • jetblack on July 17, 2005 at 22:16

Only if they’re well done, though. How did you get out to In ‘n’ Out anyway?

    • sleepysluggo on July 17, 2005 at 22:22

I went to the Century Theater in Daly City after work to meet up with my dad, who went to see War of the Worlds. (He thought it was mediocre). We drove over to In N Out and when he ordered his fries well-done I had the same. It’s part of their secret menu.

    • jetblack on July 17, 2005 at 22:23

Stupid secret menu! That’s like the 50-50 or something like that, right? My roommate likes to get a triple-triple or quadruple-quadruple.. and I remember when I was working at Compaq, my co-worker ordered a 6-6 and pigged out.

    I don’t like In N Out /that/ much.

    • sleepysluggo on July 17, 2005 at 22:28

    6-6?! Now that’s disgusting.

Yeah, that’s pretty much when I stopped eating there, because I couldn’t think of that place without thinking of the dreaded 6-6. Ugh.

I’ll have a regular burger every now and again, but yikes. I know I’m a big guy, but how this small guy was able to pack away that huge thing is one of those things you try not to figure out. I could have gone my whole life without seeing that. πŸ™‚

    • jetblack on July 17, 2005 at 22:40

That menu is awesome. I didn’t know you could actually order the fries like that. I thought maybe you just got ultra-lucky.

    • sleepysluggo on July 17, 2005 at 22:43

When my dad said “well-done fries” I was like “What?” He found out about the secret menu through someone else. The people next to us were eating protein burgers. πŸ™‚

I shouldn’t be so surprised. There’s this place here in Campbell called Taco Bravo that serves up the best Gringo-ized Mexican Food available after midnight, and all the college people hang out there until it closes at 3am.

There’s like this special menu after midnight that you can use. One of the items is a Boneyard, where they take a huge tortilla, and slather it with everything they can find… it costs $5, but you’re supposed to put a big tip in the jar for it.

I know I know. Tell you what, next time I’m over, I’ll make you a nice omelet. Also on the subject of In n Out.

A 20×20 and a small soda, came out to $20.20. I did a 16×16 once, when I found out about it with Vince, and that’s the highest I’ve gotten though we’ve gotten 8x8s a few times. The highest I get nowadays is a 4×4 and that’s only if I’m famished. Someone needs to compile everything on the secret menu, I only know of a few things on there:
    – Protein
    – Animal Style
    – Flying Dutchman
    – Animal Style Fries
    – XxX burgers
This is the first time I’ve heard about well done fries, gotta try that next time I go.

And I remember those stories about the teacher, the ones about the kids playing kancho and asking about his size are hilarious.
