No, John. Rick lost.

John Lewandowski, over at SantorumBlog discussed the results of Santorum’s defeat by Casey, Jr. in the recent Senate election for Pennsylvania. In a nutshell, he says that Santorum didn’t lose because he was Santorum, but because voters had an wet-cat-like reaction to anyone with the letter ‘R’ next to their name. In the blog post, he says, “His loss had nothing to do with his social conservatism. His loss hadnothing to do with his strong positions on the issues. And that’sbecause his loss had nothing to do with him and everything to do withan anti-Republican sentiment…

Give me a break. Could all the Pennsylvanians on my friends’ list who did not vote for the lame duck junior Senator from PA go over there, and drop a comment setting the record straight and showing Mister Lewandowski that his misguided attempt to assauge the resounding defeat is… well, misguided? :)

What Does a Democratically-controlled House mean to you?

This is what it all means to me:

  • An end to any support for a Republican president who thinks of himself as an Imperialist leader.
  • An end to any support for any amendment denying the rights of anyone based on sexual orientation.
  • An end to any support for any amendment abridging the rights of citizens looking to express dissatisfaction with their government by burning their flag in protest.
  • An end to any support for blank check funding of a war in Iraq by President Bush.
  • An end to any support for any act that would remove freedoms and rights from the people, all in the name of protecting those very same freedoms.
  • An end to any support for advancing the agenda of the religious right.
  • An end to fake ethics, fake morals, fake integrity, and fake leadership by a party that claims it has all four and then proves to the American people that it clearly does not.
  • An end to a two-hundred-thirty year absence of a female speaker in the House of Representatives.
  • An end to being embarrassed of my government.

D is for Victory, people.

D is for Victory!

I’d like to thank everyone who got out to the polls today to make their voices heard.  Whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, Green or Libertarian, Reform or Peace & Freedom… you stood up for your ideals and sent your message loud and clear.

Personally, I’m absolutely ecstatic over the returns I’m seeing reported by several sources:

In 2006, D is for Victory!
