The following invitation was sent out from my wife’s LJ a few weeks back:
What: Holiday Shindig/Party/Open House type thing. Nothing fancy- just a casual get-together.
Where: the humble abode of
When: Sunday Dec. 10, noon-whenever. Come by when you can and hang out as long as you want.
What about food?: I’ll supply a few appetizers, a couple of desserts and drinks, but it’d be great if everyone can bring something. Let me know if you have something specific in mind. Note: chocolate chip cookies are already taken care of.
Leave a comment if you’ll be able to make it and/or any questions you may have.
UPDATE 12/3: it’d also be great if you brought one non-perishable food item for local food drives.
I’ll try to be conscious during that time, but I’ll have worked from mdnight to eight that morning. Mostly though, you’re going to want to come for the cookie bake-off between me, Julia, and Tap. You are directed to declare me the winner, for my cookie recipe is handed down from on high and rules you all with a mighty flavor.

Tap has to withdraw from the competition because she cannot afford the ingredients with which to bake. She regrets to inform you of this decision.
It’s okay. He and I will duke it out… as I have superior cookies and he needs to shut it. Mwah.
