Take Your Reprimand and Shove it Up Your Ass

Yesterday, I made arrangements with a co-worker to cover my shift, so I could go to a concert. I did it like two weeks in advance, and so thinking it was all good and fine (stupid me), I did not show up for my shift. My boss knew that this co-worker was supposed to cover for me, too, but he wanted an email sent from the co-worker stating he’d do it. I called up the co-worker and asked, and there was an agreement that he would. Now, this was Wednesday. I didn’t work on Thursday, so I have no idea if the email was sent or not, but I made the assumption that it would be (since I was going to cover said co-worker on Sunday).

Well, the co-worker reneg’ed on me, and told my boss that he made no such promise or arrangement with me. So, my boss began calling frantically, looking for me to come in. This drew my WTF response, and I said that I had plans that I could not break.

My boss seemed to be okay with it and made arrangements to cover me on short notice, but that was just glossy bullshit. He wrote up a two page reprimand (in Walmart terms, a verbal) and had me read it and acknowledge it.

Ugh.

*kicks co-worker in the balls*

There shall be a reckoning.
