To Those Who Would Sling Mud…

I’ve been reading quite a few livejournals out there where JTAF was concerned. I’ll be the first to admit it wasn’t the best show, but it wasn’t the worst show, either. Slinging mud at the people who gave up a significant portion of their free time to put it together, especially when a majority of those same people also staff the other bay area conventions, is really bad form and gives the ‘offending’ convention a really bad name. If you don’t like the show, don’t go, but don’t bash the same work force you use for choosing to support us. Don’t call them Fanimecon rejects, don’t call them retards, don’t call them worthless. They will find out, and they will react accordingly.

Anyone… anyone who tries to score points with their friends by belittling the tremendous, selfless, and amazing efforts of others, shall sacrifice my respect for them. It’s interesting to see the true colors of those I previously considered friends.

*shrugs* I had fun. Can I go again next year?

*blink* Dude, honestly, this has to be the best Con I’ve been to. And I’ve only been to one other, which was the biggest one in the world. Yeah, you guys had your hiccups, but everything looked fabulous, and I had a wonderful time.

Also I miss the goddamned tub. And water pressure. I wanna come back next year!

    Sorry to hear that. 🙁

OMJ call me! I have to make you an offer you cannot refuse!

I wasn’t there… so I can’t say how it really was.. but I know how much effort people put into such things.. and even if it completely bombed it is never good to belittle things that people have put time of their own in to… it’s one thing if it’s their paid job and they screw it up.. but if people do it on their own it’s completely different and I bet y’all did a HELL of a good job!

Course… I’ve seen how picky Cochrane is sometimes online too so I bet it was better than just ‘good’.. 🙂

We all worked hard for JTAF and for someone to belittle it without even attending is very childish.

Some people need to learn to grow up.

If I have anything to say about it, you’re coming back 🙂

The same for Randy goes for you, too. 🙂 Ray loved both of you guys. 🙂 We’ll do much better with the schedule and stuff next year. 🙂

Thanks, man. It’s a shame you couldn’t come out and see it in person.

Not my fault you’re on the wrong side of the country…

    • jetblack on September 16, 2004 at 07:28

It’s just in poor taste. I haven’t gone to Fanime these past few years, but that’s mostly because I had to work those weekends or maybe because I didn’t think I was welcome. I have always always acknowledged how good of a show they do every year, and I speak with Livia via IM to congratulate her. They never return the favor, but I don’t care.. because saying nothing is better than saying something derrogatory.

When you read stuff like this, it just drives you up a wall. Attack ME. Leave them out of it.

My 2 only major decrepancy is that I should have gotten a hotel room either on friday or saturday nite so I can crash/sleep in and then go to the con and how the “moderator” guy kept on harassing myself and 3 other ladies when talking to Toshi to move to another table. I think Toshi was getting annoyed at that guy, there was plenty of room for others to jump in but I dunno guess they wanted to make it constant. We were having a really good conversation before that guy broke it up, that is when I decided to bail out of the con.

semi-decrepancy, dealer’s room was small and some of the dealers there jacked up the prices. I ended up getting stuff in J-town then in the dealers room. Also was suprised that the artist alley was on the 1st floor of the Kinokuniya Building.

Everything else was suitible for being a young convention, I guess myself I am starting to get tired of cons because to me there isn’t a whole lot that I haven’t seen or done before. Again this statement is just me, I dunno about anybody else. Who knows hehe 🙂

I heard they eventually gave up on that and let people sit where they wanted to. As for the hotel rooms, there were like 4 other major events going on at the same weekend, which made hotel booking so difficult for everyone. Next year, we will have a room block of 50 rooms for people who wish to stay. Also, there will be more hotel-room events, rather than spacing out into the mall again, which backfired on us.

Thanks for coming, though. I hope you at least had some fun.

    Should I not feel morally superior for having taken a shower everyday? ^_-;

    • jetblack on September 16, 2004 at 09:03

You can feel morally superior for having a rack, a spine, hygine, intelligence, and attitude.

    • anki on September 16, 2004 at 14:56

The four key ingredients to moral superiority, eh?

I’m still planning on attending next year. I’ve already confirmed with the Miyako that I can book far in advance. My leave is lined up and the savings account is growing. Animeeee!

    • saebel on September 16, 2004 at 16:50

At the moment, all I can vouch for is the showering. Maybe the rack. And the attitude.

    Me-ow.

    • jetblack on September 16, 2004 at 17:10

But no intelligence and spine? Pshaw.

Sweet. Maybe I’ll get you moved to our room block so you’ll save some money. 🙂

Yeah, that shit-talker should be HANGED!! Fuck that bitch!! LOL

    • chibiendy on September 16, 2004 at 18:48

That sucks that people are ripping on it. Sure, it had its challenges, but they all do. Heck, I enjoy the challenges. What were they saying? =/ Eh. Forget em.

They come and go. Like a cat lurking for its prey.

So, where are these comments? Or are they secret?
