Golden Compass

One of my friends took me out to see The Golden Compass tonight.  It was all right… I suppose.  I did not read the book it was based on, but then again, I’m not really all that into fantasy.  I much prefer the logic of science-fiction, I guess.  It was entertaining, at the very least, so I guess I would like to see what happens with the story.  I hope this first movie earns enough money to warrant a sequel.  Otherwise, I guess I’ll have to read the books, if they don’t.

Tomorrow: More Model Building news… with pictures!

I think you’d like the books far better than the movie even if you’re not into fantasy. I’m not into fantasy either but I found them to be very imaginative and well-written.

    Movie bad. Books better.

You might like Pullman’s other series – the ones about Sally Lockhart. The first one is “Ruby in the Smoke” — I know you get a kick out of strong female leads. 🙂
