Baseball Bias: WTF

I’m missing some articles this week.

I have no Red Sox, Giants, or Yankees article. The Dodgers are showing you guys up big time.

I need non-flakes writing for me in a serious fashion, or else I’m going to start firing the flakes, because you guys are fucking it up for the other writers who’re actually trying to make this work. Without an AL East or NL West representation, we’re worth nothing. So either stick to the schedule or get the fuck out; I’m not suffering this bullshit for much longer. If you tell me you’re going to write and you don’t, then you make me look the fool for beleiving you in the first place.

I emailed you the article last night- did you not get it? I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to submit it on the site, but kept getting errors. I IM’d you yesterday afternoon my time about the submission problem, too…

Let me know if you didn’t get it. I’m trying to do my part of the job here, so…you know. Not with the flaking, so I don’t much appreciate the calling out.

I never received it. Where did you send it to?

There’s actually a way to submit articles listed in the forum in the Staff Clubhouse. Use the ‘Submit Article’ button when you log into the main site to submit your articles, just like at the old site.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 11:04

Yep. I did that. Got error messages all afternoon, which is why I IM’d you and tried to email you. I tried mdgarcia@baseballbias.com, and mgarcia@baseballbias.com, because I never heard back from you re: the IM. MDGarcia bounced back, mgarcia didn’t.

If you want me to send it somewhere else, let me know. I’ve been trying to get this article to you since yesterday around noon your time.

As far as the calling out:

I sent you a comment to one of your posts yesterday about the article, no reply. Everyone else but me got a reply.

I was up until 2am last night and no Red Sox article entered the article submission queue, or appeared in my email.

What else was I supposed to think at the time? :/

    Read this forum post:

    http://smf.baseballbias.com/index.php?topic=21.0

It outlines how to submit an article.

We’ve established I can’t do it weekly, right? I need to know when I’m expected to write articles and when whoever I’m switching off with is.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 11:21

The other writer flaked; imagine my surprise… hence my anger.

Last week was our opening week, so this week was yours.

    • doctorzbornak on April 14, 2006 at 11:25

I kinda wish I would have known that prior to being called out in front of everyone. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 11:36

What errors were you getting? Because I got two articles yesterday no problem, and I submitted myself as a test.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 11:36

I thought it was understood, since you told me you couldn’t do the first week… :/

    • doctorzbornak on April 14, 2006 at 11:59

Guess it wasn’t, but now it’s understood by everyone on this filter.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 12:50

Never got the comment notification in my email. That happened to another comment someone left me in another post, but I thought it was an isolated problem.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 12:51

I’m trying to tell you: I DID THAT. I got error messages about sixteen times, which was when I gave up and IM’d you.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 12:52

First the page wouldn’t load. Then it loaded with errors. Then I’d hit submit and nothing happened. Then the text boxes wouldn’t load. Then they loaded before everything else. That’s when I IM’d you.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 13:25

I don’t see any error messages in the log with your username on it. Can you cut and paste them into a reply so I can see what you’re seeing? If others are having the same problem, it’ll help me debug the site.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 13:27

I can try to submit it again when I can get the husband to get off his computer- I’m on the laptop, and I don’t have the document saved here.

Did you get an article in your email, at the very least? I’m feeling kind of frustrated because I was trying everything I could to get you the article yesterday afternoon, and…

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 13:27

In the meantime, can you paste in your article to a reply here and I can run it today.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 13:30

I got nothing. ๐Ÿ™ The mail server says it never received an email for my inbox between noon until 11pm pacific, when the nightly reports ran on the website and it sent it out as an email.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 13:32

I just had him email it to you at your hotmail and gmail addresses as well as at baseballbias.com. Again.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 13:35

Well, I sent it last night around 8 PM my time. MDGarcia@baseballbias.com bounced back, so I tried mgarcia@baseballbias.com, as you never responded to the IM I sent you telling you that I was having problems submitting the article and asking what you wanted me to do.

Like I said, given that I tried to contact you, tried to send you the article SEVERAL times, and tried to submit it on the site SEVERAL times, I’m pretty unhappy about the public calling out in front of everyone on the filter. Had I not IM’d you specifically to say I was having problems, I would have understood a lot more, because if you never got the emails, you’d have no way of knowing that I was trying to get something to you.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 13:36

Success. I got the word doc.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 13:38

    Freakin’ finally.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 13:42

Look for it at 5pm your time. It’ll go live, then. I need time to copy edit it quickly ๐Ÿ™‚

Your next article is due Saturday, but I need it by next Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 13:43

    Shouldn’t be a problem.

    • reveritas on April 14, 2006 at 13:44

Maggie: what browser are you using? i’ve found the backend doesn’t work with Safari at all.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 13:46

    Regular old Internet Explorer.

    • jetblack on April 14, 2006 at 13:54

Christ, Maggie… this is an awesome article. This is the reason I did Baseball Bias.

    • maggiesox on April 14, 2006 at 14:15

    ::blushes::

    Um. Okay. Thanks. Sheesh.
